With his quirky methods, Bryson DeChambeau is known as the ‘Golfing Scientist’ and is one of the most consistent winners on Tour to date.
As an ambassador for Cobra, you’d be right to assume that the American professional golfer plays with some of the brand’s best clubs. However, he also carries a couple of clubs from smaller brands and wears Puma golf shoes and apparel.
Let’s take a closer look at Bryson DeChambeau’s setup.
· Driver
Previously, Bryson used a Cobra King Radspeed Driver with a 7.5 degree loft. However, he recently switched to the Cobra King LTDx with a LA Golf Tour AXS Blue 60 X shaft.
The Cobra King LTDx Driver combines power and forgiveness – making it a fantastic option for beginners and PGA Tour players alike. It features a new H.O.T (Highly Optimised Technology) face that delivers incredible ball speeds and has a slightly oversized profile that helps to promote long, straight drives.
· Fairway Woods
DeChambeau currently has two 3-woods in his golf bag: Cobra Radspeed Big Tour and Cobra King SpeedZone Tour.
With a smaller profile and penetrating lower spinning flight, the Cobra Radspeed Big Tour Fairway Wood is aimed more at better players. It’s the most forward-weighted in the Radspeed family of fairway woods and brings the centre of gravity (CG) closer to the face.
The King SpeedZone Tour Fairways boast a compact shape with forward weighting – delivering low, workable trajectories with less spin, which is something that most PGA players desire.
· Irons
The American golfer has a couple of golf irons stowed neatly in his golf bag – all seven-iron length (or 37.5 inches) to ensure he swings every club the same.
These include the Cobra King One Length Utility Irons (4-5), which blend classic looks with modern technology to provide exceptional distance, consistency and forgiveness, and the Cobra King Tour MIM Irons.
The King Tour MIM Irons are tour-calibre cavity back irons that have been created using Metal Injection Molding (MIM) technology. They have a compact shape and clean lines that help to inspire confidence.
· Wedge
DeChambeau used to have a selection of PXG and Cobra wedges in his golf bag, but he has been using Artisan Prototypes with 47, 52 and 58 degrees of loft for several years now.
Artisan wedges are manufactured to premium quality and provide a stunningly soft feel at impact. They offer tour-level performance in every area – including high levels of trajectory control, spin and turf interaction.
· Putter
Bryson has been switching up his putter setup of late – alternating between blade and mallet models from SIK and Odyssey.
However, the SIK Pro C-Series Armlock Prototype Putter is the one he used to win 5 times on the PGA Tour and the one he’s put back in his bag for this year!
This putter is specifically designed to help golfers to hit the sweet spot more frequently – ensuring the ball rolls on the intended line with the desired speed.
· Golf Ball
At the tail-end of 2021 and the beginning of this year, DeChambeau was using the Bridgestone Tour B X Golf Balls.
These golf balls have a smart urethane cover that acts as an ‘impact modifier’, improving ball speeds and reducing spin. The dual dimple design, on the other hand, helps to bring more distance and offers increased roll on your drives.
