There’s some debate on this subject. Because they’re mallet putters, some golfers would say it's wisest for new players to start with a traditional blade putter, rather than something like the Max 1 or Max Stripe.
Blade putters are typically easier to swing and less intimidating, making them a decent choice for those just starting out. Having said that, the consistency and stability provided by these Odyssey putters could be appealing if a beginner wants to hammer home these elements early on.
But, at their price point, there’s no doubt Odyssey are targeting these putters towards more advanced players.
