Frequently Asked Questions?

  • Cleveland has taken on board the successes of its previous club lines and has injected much of that technology – and some new additions – into its hybrids. In Cleveland hybrids, you’ll find a mixture of innovative golf tech designed to give you the results you’re looking for on the course, such as carefully constructed soles built to lift the ball off the deck seamlessly. As well as special ‘mainframe’ technology that’s designed to boost the moment of inertia and forgiveness – though this is barely scratching the surface. • Many golfers reach for a hybrid club instead of a long iron because the long irons are notoriously difficult to strike cleanly, with accuracy and with full power. Even some professionals struggle with them. Whereas hybrids offer a very similar build twinned with much easier striking. However, that isn’t to say they can replace your long irons. Long irons will always have a place in your golf bag and there will be situations on the course where a long iron is the perfect club of choice, rather than a Cleveland hybrid. So feel free to add a Cleveland hybrid to your collection, but use it wisely and don’t let it make you stray too far from the other clubs you own.

At first glance, fairway woods and hybrid clubs look strikingly similar. However, on closer inspection, you’ll find they have many differences that produce drastically different results in play. While fairway woods are somewhat chunky in their head size, Cleveland hybrids are much slimmer in comparison while sharing a similar shape. This change allows them to cut through the air more cleanly, in a similar fashion to a long iron, while offering much smoother contact in most scenarios. In other words, they both have a place in your bag.

  • One of the reasons so many golfers have made the move to hybrid clubs in the past few years is just how responsive they feel and how much easier they are to catch the ball cleanly when compared to your long irons. That isn’t to say they’re the easiest club in the world to hit, though. They still share many characteristics with the long irons, so practice and patience may be needed. Having said that, you can expect a knife-through-butter sensation when you catch the ball as expected, as well as fantastic power and desirable accuracy, even out of the rough.
